Building and Fire Code Update Task Force

The Building and Fire Code Update Task Force will act as an advisory group for the adoption of the building and fire codes. The task force will meet on an as-needed basis to review the staff proposal for the adoption of the 2015 International Building and Fire Codes. The task force will only serve for the duration of the code review process.

The committee will consist of three to nine members with the following qualifications: 

  • There will be at least three members of the committee that are either a licensed architect, a registered engineer with building-related experience, or a construction company executive or superintendent with at least 10 years of construction experience.
  • Committee members shall not be employees of the City of Westminster.
  • No committee member may hear or vote upon any appeal in which that member has any personal, professional or financial interest, pursuant to applicable state statutes and City Charter and ordinance provisions.
  • Other members will be selected by the City Council.
