Public Computer Access

College Hill Library offers 17 desktop computers on the first floor for members of the public. These computers can be accessed with a full-service Westminster Public Library card, 2-hour guest pass or a Westminster Public Library computer use only library card. College Hill also provides 4 AWE Learning Stations for children.

Irving Street Library offers 17 desktop computers and 6 mobile laptop computers for in-library use. These computers can be accessed with a full-service Westminster Public Library card, 2-hour visitor pass or a Westminster Public Library computer use only library card. Irving Street also provides 2 AWE Learning Stations for children.

Software

Library computers have the following software:

  • Windows 7
  • Microsoft Office 2013: Word, Powerpoint, Publisher, Excel, Access
  • Google Earth
  • Internet Explorer 11 and the most recent version of Google Chrome

Printing

Printing is available from library computers for a fee: 10 cents/page for black ink, 25 cents/page for color ink. Wireless printing is not available at this time.

WiFI

Wifi is free at both locations and does not require a password. All library users at College Hill use the Front Range Community College unencrypted wireless network 'FRCC Student'. All library users at Irving Street use the unencrypted 'library' network.

Fax and Scan Services

Both College Hill and Irving Street have an easy-to-use public fax machine. Fees: North America, $1.75 for the first page and $1.00 for additional pages. International, $3.95 for the first page and $3.45 for additional pages. The fax machine also has a 'scan and send to email' function. You can use a credit or debit card, or purchase a fax card from the circulation desk.

Copy machine

The copy machine at College Hill provides black and white letter-size copies for 10 cents/page. Other paper sizes are available. The copy machine at Irving Street provides both color and black and white copies for 10 cents/page, as well as scan to email functionality.

Microfilm/fiche reader

There is microfilm/microfiche reader on the first floor at College Hill.

Free Drop-in Computer and Technology Help at Irving Street

Come to the Irving Street Library for free one-on-one help with your computer questions. Bring your own computer or device or use a library laptop. You can learn the basics: how to use a mouse, search the internet, type a document, create and use an email account, as well as get more advanced help with a tablet or ereader, the databases or specific internet searches. Attend as often as you want. No registration required.

  • 1st Wednesday of the Month, 6:30-7:45 p.m.
  • 2nd Wednesday of the Month, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
  • 3rd Wednesday of the Month, 6:30-7:45 p.m.
