Westminster is known for its quantity of high quality events and your Open Space Team is in charge of planning and implementing a handful of them every year. See below for events and details.

Community Pride Day – At the beginning of the summer, over 1,000 volunteers come together to “spring clean” Westminster and Highland Hills Parks and Recreation District. Join in the fun for a morning of trash clean up in your designated area and then enjoy a free BBQ with music, dancing, prizes and more! Second Saturday in May. Contact Kristen May for more information: 303-658-2191 or kmay@cityofwestminster.us

Earth Day/Arbor Day – Celebrate Mother Earth with Westminster’s Earth Day Celebration! Pick up your ReLeaf Westminster tree and then spend some time learning about how to be greener in your daily life! Previous participants include live animals from Nature’s Educators, healthy cooking demonstrations, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, examples of urban wood carpentry, bicycle-powered blenders and much more! Third Saturday in April. Contact Kristen May for more information: 303-658-2191 or kmay@cityofwestminster.us

National Trails Day – First Saturday in June every year. This event has extraordinary potential and could be different every single year. The main idea of National Trails Day is to get people out on the trails doing any muscle powered activity. National Trails Day is celebrated in all 50 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.
