Standley Lake offers many opportunities for wildlife viewing, picnics, fishing, hiking, walking, running and cycling. Standley Lake has fourteen miles of trails within the park boundaries, three miles of accessible shoreline, prairie grasslands and spectacular mountain views.

Standley Lake also features a Nature Center where visitors can view animal displays, see Standley Lake historical photos, purchase passes and permits, obtain park information and visit our resident bull snake, Betty!

For visitors wanting to learn more about nature, the park and the wildlife, staff offers educational nature programs throughout the year for visitors and groups of all ages.

Additionally, Standley Lake offers guided nature education programs for schools, scout troops, organizations and any outdoor explorer groups. These programs can be customized to fit any age group, current classroom curriculum, state standards, badge requirements, or simply a topic your group is curious about. Request a private program here.
