Master Kent Hups has been practicing TaeKwon-Do since 1974 and started working with the City of Westminster TaeKwon-Do program in 1991 at The MAC. Currently an 8th Dan, aka black belt, Master Hups has achieved the second highest active degree of black belt in TaeKwon-Do. He has held this high ranking since 2011 and is currently working on the next level, a 9th Dan, which is the Grandmaster level. He will be eligible to be promoted to 9th Dan in 2021. Master Hups has had the honor of training with the founder of TaeKwon-Do, the late General Choi Hong Hi. Master Hups started the Traditional TaeKwon-Do Alliance (TTA) with in 2012 and we now have four affiliated TaeKwon-Do schools.

Master Pickering got his start in TaeKwon-Do again as a student in Master Hups class in 1995, an activity taken with his then 11 year old daughter. After 2 ½ years as a student, Master Pickering earned his 1st Dan, aka black belt, under Master Kent Hups and Grandmaster C.E. Sereff. Master Pickering was then hired to assisting Master Hups with teaching duties in October 1998. He led the 5 to 8 year old class and assisted in the 8 years and older class from 1999 to 2015 at The MAC. He then moved his teachings to lead all TaeKwon-Do classes at West View Recreation Center in May 2015.

Ms. Harness has been practicing TaeKwon-Do since 2008. She achieved her current rank of third degree Dan, aka black belt, in late 2015, and is working hard to prepare for her next rank in early 2019. A former Master Hups TaeKwon-Do class student, she loves working with students of all ages to deepen their knowledge, understanding, and skill of the TaeKwon-Do martial art.

Mr. Heyl has been practicing TaeKwon-Do as a student under Master Hups at The MAC since 2010. He achieved his current rank of second degree Dan, aka black belt, in 2015, and is working hard to prepare for his next rank in December 2017. Mr. Heyl enjoys teaching the art of TaeKwon-Do at both locations, The MAC and West View Recreation Center.
