Plan Submittals and Permits

The Westminster Fire Department requires permits and plan submittals for new construction, significant building alterations, tenant finishes, fire suppression/sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, hood systems, and other large projects that affect public safety from fire or hazardous materials. Permits are also required for special events such as block parties, carnivals, use of tents and/or canopies exceeding 400 square feet, etc.

As of December 14, 2016, the Westminster Fire Department, as well as the City of Westminster Building Division, transitioned to electronic plan review and permitting. There are a variety of services that can be provided through this online program including:
