Fire Department

The Westminster Fire Department responds to over 10,000 calls a year. About 70 percent are medical calls. The remainder of calls include response to fires, alarms, hazardous materials, rescues (water, technical, etc.) and public assists. Response time is typically under 6 minutes. For more information and statistics, please view our annual report.

November 1-15 - Santa Visit Lottery Sign Up:

Westminster Fire Department has been in communication with the elves in the North Pole and Santa is available and excited to visit kids in Westminster December 1-6.  If you are interested in receiving a visit, now is the time to sign up for the Santa visit lottery.  The Santa program, a tradition of the Westminster Fire Department since 1935, includes the arrival of Jolly St. Nick on a fire truck, time for kids to let Santa know their Christmas wishes (and take photos), then good boys and girls receive a candy gift as Santa leaves.  Visits are scheduled geographically, sometime between 6–8 p.m. from December 1-6. Registration for this program is a lottery system; entries for a Santa visit are ONLY accepted from 8 a.m., Nov. 1 through 5 p.m., Nov. 15.  When registering, provide your full name, address, and phone number (reservations cannot be made without complete information, limit one registration per household).  Register for a chance to have Santa visit your home at http://www.cityofwestminster.us/santa.  All complete requests will be entered in a drawing; notification of the lottery results will begin the week of November 20.  For more information call 303-658-4500.
