Emma Pinter was elected to Westminster City Council in November 2013 and was re-elected to City Council again in November 2017.

Emma’s leadership on Westminster City Council reflects her working family roots. Raised by a single mother who was a librarian, Emma learned that you work hard, don’t make excuses, and get the job done.

When Emma was 20, her mother passed away. Emma took over care of her little sister while finishing college and law school. It fell to Emma to ensure that her sister, who was 16, was able to finish high school and college on time as well. During college summers, Emma would come to Colorado to work as a mountaineering guide. After finishing school, Emma and her husband made Colorado their home.

Emma has always been committed to public service, whether volunteering with the local Legal Aid Society or serving on many local boards and commissions. Emma won her seat on Westminster City Council in 2013 with a record number of votes. She has made our community more inclusive, opened Westminster's first train station, invested in the new downtown with 28 percent of the project devoted to affordable housing, supported the vitality of our historic downtown. Emma also added many family friendly policies like nursing rooms and free childcare for City Council community meetings.

When she was re-elected to Westminster City Council November 2017. in one of her first meetings back she was proud to vote on and pass work from her 2017 Building Code Task Force. This building code update includes much needed improvements, significantly higher energy efficiency standards and requirements for gender-free single stall bathrooms. Emma's service is about building a stronger more inclusive Westminster for tomorrow.
