Before his position on City Council, Voelz served a few years on the Inclusivity Board, working for a community that is welcoming, inclusive and fair to all residents, and where all residents feel encouraged to participate in the city government.

Voelz grew up in a Midwest family devoted to community service. He has worked for more than 25 years in public affairs, public administration and non-profit leadership.

Prior to serving on City Council, Voelz was elected to serve as Town Council President of his previous hometown.  Before that Voelz served as Clerk-Treasurer and as the Chief Administrative/Financial Officer of the town.

In his free time, Voelz is an active outdoor enthusiast; hiking, biking and jogging on our outstanding trails and open space.  He has worked hard during his time on Council to increase funding for open space acquisition and improving maintenance.

Voelz is a charter member of the Westminster chapter of Kiwanis. He is an active member of the Westminster Chamber of Commerce.  He is also a longtime supporter and volunteer for One Colorado.  As a strong advocate for safe and thriving neighborhoods, Voelz enjoys spending time with his neighbors in the Hyland Greens East neighborhood.
