Voter Records

  • You can register to vote either online or by paper form.
  • If you have a Colorado State driver’s license or an ID card issued by the Department of Revenue, you may register to vote online at www.govotecolorado.gov.
  • Printable voter registration forms are also available here. Completed and signed forms can be mailed, faxed, or scanned and emailed to your county clerk’s elections division, or to the Westminster City Clerk’s Office.
  • Voter Registration is also offered at:
    • A Voter Service Polling Center.
    • A Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle office when you apply for a driver’s license or update your driver’s license information.
    • All offices that provide public assistance.
    • Recruitment offices of the armed forces of the United States.
    • Any federal, state, or local government or non-government office that chooses to provide voter registration applications.
  • Colorado law allows you to register to vote through Election Day but please note that how you register to vote matters.
    • If you register to vote by mail or online through www.govotecolorado.gov, at least eight (8) days before Election Day, the City Clerk will automatically mail you a ballot.
    • If you register after the 8th day before Election Day, you must visit one of the Voter Service and Polling Centers in the City of Westminster to get a ballot.
    • If you register to vote through a voter registration drive, your application must be submitted no later than 22 days before an election.
    • You ay register to vote by appearing in-person at a Voter Service and Polling Center through election day.
  • If you have a Colorado Driver’s License or an ID card issued by the Department of Revenue, your address can be updated online at www.govotecolorado.gov.
  • In addition, you can complete a voter registration form, which can be delivered to our office by mail, fax, email, or in person.
  • You can also update or change your address prior to or on Election Day at a Voter Service Polling Center.
It is a live feed. Your county’s Election Division receives the information immediately, but it will take at least one business day to process.

Mail Ballots

  • You can mail your ballot back with $.071 paid postage (two Forever stamps) for up to 1.5 oz.
  • Or you can deliver it to any Voter Service Polling Center or 24-Hour Ballot Drop Box for free.
  • Please note that ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, July 20, in order to be counted.
  • All ballots received by 7 p.m. on Election Day are counted in the same manner.
  • Please remember that postmarks do not count as received.
  • If you make a mistake, damage, or lose your ballot, you may ask for a replacement ballot.
  • To receive a replacement ballot, call the Westminster City Clerk at 303.658.2161 or visit one of the Voter Service Polling Centers.
  • The special recall election will not be linked to the Colorado Secretary of State’s Ballot Trax system.
  • However, the City Clerk’s Office will post daily reports of individuals who have cast ballots in this election.
  • If this is your first time voting in Colorado, and you did not provide ID when you registered to vote, you are required to provide a photocopy of your ID in the Official Return Envelope.If your ballot is not returned with an ID, it will not be counted.
  • List of Acceptable Forms of Identification
  • Yes. You do not have to vote on every contest unless you choose to.
  • Whatever race you decide to vote on will be counted.
  • Vote for just one option on your ballot, unless otherwise stated.
  • Your vote will not be counted for the race in which you select more than allowed.
  • Under Colorado Law (Title 1-7.5-107(5)(c), C.R.S.), voter’s signatures on their ballot envelope must be verified against the signature that is on file for that voter.
  • This helps prevent voter fraud and ensures the integrity of elections.
  • A voter whose signature is challenged or missing will receive a letter with instructions on how to “cure” the ballot. The issue must be “cured” by the 8th day after the election in order for the ballot to be counted.

Voter Services and Polling Centers

  • Voters are not assigned to specific Voter Service and Polling Centers. You can utilize the services at any of the locations in the City of Westminster.
  • All active and registered voters in Colorado now receive a mail ballot. There are no longer precinct polling places.
  • Any Westminster resident can visit any Voter Service and Polling Center in the City. At Voting Service and Polling Centers, voters have the option to:
    • Cast a ballot in person
    • Use accessible voting equipment
    • Replace a ballot
    • Drop off a completed ballot
    • Register to vote
    • Update their voter registration file
  • In Colorado, all voters who vote at a Voter Service and Polling Center must provide identification. List of Acceptable Forms of Identification
