Schedule an Inspection

*PLEASE NOTE: Effective Tuesday, March 17, City Hall will be closed to the public until further notice as the City of Westminster takes additional precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Many of our staff will be working remotely and away from their offices over the coming days. Thank you for your understanding and patience, and we look forward to serving you.

  • Building inspections should be scheduled online through eTRAKiT.  All inspections will be conducted as normal as long as social distancing can be achieved and maintained. However, interior building and electrical inspections will not be performed in person within occupied buildings (please see additional information below). If an inspector deems it necessary to do the inspection via a virtual option an email will be sent to the applicant the morning of the scheduled inspection with further details on how the virtual inspection will be conducted.
  • Regarding building inspections and new safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic: In response to updated CDPHE and local health orders, specific changes are being put in place to help protect inspection staff as well as job site personnel. Interior building and electrical inspections will not be performed in person within occupied buildings. Inspectors will only inspect areas of the building that have been vacated prior to their arrival, assuring that they will not come into contact with workers at any point during their site visit. For more information regarding these protocols and requirements, please see the Building Division's Official Policy and Procedures Document.

Inspection of your work is the most important part of the process. Having your work inspected will provide you with the assurance that the work has been completed properly. Inspection also provides a permanent record of compliance with building code requirements.

Important Roofing Inspection Information

Due to a large amount of roofing inspection requests, we may not be able to conduct your inspection for several days or sometimes weeks. Even if you schedule an inspection for the next business day, your inspection will be conducted in the order the request was received.

We provide a ladder for all one-story roofing inspections. If the inspection requires a second ladder, please indicate in your inspection request that the house is a two-story. Provide a phone number so the inspector can call you to coordinate ladder placement if needed. Please do not set a ladder until the inspector coordinates with you.
