City manager statement on Pittsburgh synagogue shootings

The City of Westminster, through City Manager Donald Tripp, expresses their concerns and condolences to the victims of the recent Pittsburgh synagogue shootings. As this has been identified by Pittsburgh authorities as a “hate crime” we also join in the collective call to reject these acts that threaten the very fabric of our communities.

A tragic event such as the Pittsburgh shooting serves as a reminder that we must renew our resolve to build communities based on principles of inclusivity, acceptance and welcome. As a member of Welcoming America's Welcoming Cities and Counties Initiative, the city recognizes that we are all members of the Westminster community, regardless of where we are born, what we look like or how we worship.

By working together, we can achieve greater prosperity and work together to advocate for all voices in our community and to ensure everyone is treated with fairness, dignity and respect.
