Proposed affordable senior housing project to go to council for review

A public hearing and consideration of a proposed Preliminary Development Plan (PDP) amendment and Official Development Plan (ODP) for “Legends at Church Ranch” in the Church Ranch Home Place subdivision will take place during the City Council meeting on Monday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

The subdivision is located on the southeast corner of Church Ranch and Wadsworth Boulevards. The applicant is requesting the approval of 205 senior affordable housing units in one 264,953 square foot building to be known as Legends at Church Ranch.

In December 2016, City Council approved a Comprehensive Plan amendment request to re-designate the property from “Office” to “Residential-36” effective upon final approval of an ODP to allow an affordable senior housing project on the site.

The city’s Planning Commission reviewed this application on Tuesday, Sept. 24, and voted unanimously in favor of recommendation for approval (7-0).
