Snowbusters program featured on CBS4 news

On Thursday, Feb. 7, CBS4 news highlighted the city’s Snowbusters program. Volunteer snowbuster Sean Howe and his two sons were filmed clearing the snow from the house they’d been matched with for the second year in a row. Although the homeowners weren’t home at the time of filming, they surely appreciated Sean and his family’s time and generosity.

Currently, there are still at least ten residents hoping for a match this season, with more applications coming in each week.

Regarding the volunteer program, one new Snowbuster, Allison, said, “I am proud to be a snowbuster! I only have one official snowbuster gig, but I love the work and I think the world of the person I am helping. She comes out to chat with me every time I shovel her walk. I feel so much more a part of my community as I now notice neighbors who need extra help when the snow falls. I don’t think I would have met some of these neighbors had I not learned about the program.”

“Residents frequently call me to pass on words of thanks to the snowbusters for their service,” said Senior Human Resources Analyst Emily Littlejohn.
