St. Baldrick's Day Event Supports Childhood Cancer Research

St. Baldrick's Day Event Supports Childhood Cancer Research

On Sunday, March 12, Mayor Nancy McNally, alongside several Councillors and Westminster City staff, gathered with community members at the annual St. Baldrick's Day head-shaving event. The effort encourages participants to shave their heads to show support for children fighting cancer while raising money to fund childhood cancer research. This year's fundraising goal was set at $20,000 and as of Monday afternoon, the City had raised over $18,500 for the cause.

“Every little bit helps," Mayor McNally said. "No donation is too small, and you can donate today.”

Participants who got their heads shaved in support of the foundation included City staff, residents, and youth from Westminster. The event was graciously hosted once again by local business Yacht Club Salon.

"Thank you to the City of Westminster for allowing us the opportunity to be the host salon for the second year for this wonderful foundation," said Yacht Club Salon owner Heidi Casler. "We're super excited to partner and help raise money for childhood cancer research."

You still have a chance to donate and help the City of Westminster reach its fundraising goal. To give and learn more about the St. Baldrick's Foundation, visit: https://www.stbaldricks.org/events/mypage/8025/2023.
