COUNTRYSIDE WATER FITNESS CLASSES 

Countryside Outdoor pool is hosting aqua fitness classes through August and part of September. Online registration is required. More details about aqua fitness are as follows:

  • Please come dressed to swim. Locker rooms are available for showering before entering pool, using the rest rooms, and for hand washing purposes. Personal lockers and showers will not be available for guests at the end of their reservation times to allow staff sufficient time to clean the facility between reservation blocks.
  • Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to your reservation time.
  • Please adhere to the 6-foot distancing requirement from those who are not a member of your household.
  • Face coverings must be worn when entering and exiting the facility.
  • Please do not visit the pool if you are feeling ill.
  • Please follow all posted signage and staff instructions.
  • Countryside Pool will close during severe weather such as thunder and lightning. There will be no shelter available to the public; guests will be asked to leave the facility. A refund will automatically be issued to your account if the facility closure occurs 1 hour or less into your reservation. If the facility closure happens more than an hour into your reservation, no refund will be issued.

  • The City of Westminster will not be providing fitness equipment, so bring your own equipment and water bottle.

Benefits

Exercise done in water, or aquacise, offers a multitude of benefits and options. Aquatic fitness provides buoyancy, taking away most or all impact on your bones, joints and muscles, while the water adds pressure to your body, which comforts joints and internal organs and reduces stress on your heart. This allows you to work harder for longer, burning more fat than you could burn doing many land exercises. Exercises range from basic aerobics to resistance training to kickboxing or even tai chi. Many individuals may benefit from aquacise, including beginners, pregnant women, elderly people, patients recovering from injury and the fittest of athletes

Class Descriptions

Water Fitness***     
Get fit, increase energy and improve body tone in a low-impact class using the water’s resistance for minimal stress on the body and joints. This cardio workout aims to 
improve flexibility, energy, dexterity and stability.

Deep Water Exercise****      
Strengthens the abdominal muscles and other major muscle groups using float belts, water dumbbells and deep water resistance. Swimming ability is required. 

Aqua Vitality**    
This fitness program is designed for those with joint pain to exercise, increase strength and relax stiff joints in a moderate-intensity aerobic workout. Great for anyone with arthritis, this class aims to improve flexibility, energy, dexterity and stability.

Aqua Zumba***  
The Latin dance infused fitness class is ideal for strengthening and toning from water resistance and has less impact on the joints. Proper swimwear is required. Offered at City Park.
