Municipal Court Closure

The City of Westminster is taking the appropriate measures to ensure the health and well-being of its employees and citizens. To that end, the Westminster Municipal Court is closed to the public effective Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice. Cases will still be handled in a fair, just and impartial manner during this time with the same high standards of accountability, integrity and equity. The court will remain in communication with the community. Please continue to check back on the city’s webpage for updated information regarding the status of the court’s closure and handling of cases. 

Even though the court will be closed to the public, there will be staff on site at the court available to take your phone calls for questions, to resolve your case or have it continued. You may call the court clerk at (303) 658-2250 Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., or you may email the court clerk.

TRAFFIC AND PARKING CASES:

If you have a pending traffic or parking ticket, you may call the court clerk at the above number during the days and times listed to have your case resolved or continued. 

ALL OTHER OUT-OF-CUSTODY CASES:

If your case is not a traffic or parking ticket, please call the court clerk at the above number during the days and times listed to have your case continued to another date when the court is reopened to the public. If you are on a surety bond, please contact your bondsman to have consent of surety faxed to (303) 429-8684 on the same day you call to reset your case.

IN-CUSTODY CASES:

In-custody cases will be handled on a case-by-case basis with the goal of hearing all of them by telephone or electronically. 

VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASES:

If you are a victim of domestic violence, please call (303) 658-2265 or (303) 658-4210 with questions or concerns. 

PUBLIC DEFENDER REPRESENTATION:

If you are represented by the Public Defender’s Office and need to speak to them regarding your case, please call 303-806-8886. 

PROBATION:

If you are on probation, scheduled appointments will be conducted by telephone at your scheduled time. If you have any questions, please call (303) 658-2260 to speak with your probation officer. 

WESTMINSTER WELLNESS COURT:

If you are currently in the Westminster Wellness Court Program or you are aware that your case has been referred to the Westminster Wellness Court program, please call (303) 658-2250 and ask for the court navigator. 

MOTIONS, FILINGS, COURT REQUESTS, PROOF OF CLASS OR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS:

If you have a motion, filing, court request, proof of completion of a class or community service hours, you may fax it to the court at (303) 429-8684, mail it to Westminster Municipal Court, 3030 Turnpike Drive, Westminster, Colorado 80030, or you can email it to the courtElectronic submissions are preferred.

PRESIDING ORDERS:

All Westminster Municipal Court Presiding Orders, including those relating to Covid-19, are available for review upon request at the Municipal Court Clerk's Office.

PAYMENTS DUE:

Payments can still be made 1) online through CitePay if your ticket shows a point reduction and payment amount, 2) over the phone by calling the court clerk, 3) by U.S. mail or 4) in the drop slot to the right of the front doors of the Municipal Court building. Phone or online payments are preferred. 

ACTIVE WARRANT:

If you have an active warrant that you are trying to address, please call the court clerk, who will be able to discuss options for your case.
