West 72nd Avenue to Little Dry Creek Drainage near West 64th Avenue - Utilities Replacement Project

Project Details

The city is replacing a sanitary sewer interceptor in Historic Westminster that serves the southern third of the city. Most of this pipeline work will occur outside of roadways, so traffic disruption will be limited. However, a number of trails along Little Dry Creek will be required to be closed during construction for pedestrian safety.

The sewer replacement project will enhance the reliability and maintain a high level of service for the sewer system and it provides capacity for city growth. It is the final phase of a four part project that upgrades the sewer system and is funded from the Utility System Capital Improvement fund.

The city is wrapping up the first phase of the Little Dry Creek sanitary sewer replacement project in Historic Westminster. The City has invested over $25 million over the past five years to improve sewer and water pipelines in this area. Construction occurred along Little Dry Creek between Federal Boulevard and 64th Avenue requiring a temporary closure of Little Dry Creek Trails in this area. These trails are now restored and open to the public. Seeding activities along trails remain to be completed. This work is anticipated to occur through the month of February.

The city is in the process of planning for phase two to complete required repairs and improvements to the Little Dry Creek Sanitary Sewer system Thank you for your patience while we invest in our community’s infrastructure.
