West 72nd Avenue to Little Dry Creek Drainage near West 64th Avenue - Utilities Replacement Project

Project Details

The city is replacing a sanitary sewer interceptor in Historic Westminster that serves the southern third of the city. Most of this pipeline work will occur outside of roadways, so traffic disruption will be limited. However, a number of trails along Little Dry Creek will be required to be closed during construction for pedestrian safety.

The sewer replacement project will enhance the reliability and maintain a high level of service for the sewer system and it provides capacity for city growth. It is the final phase of a four part project that upgrades the sewer system and is funded from the Utility System Capital Improvement fund.

Update

The contractor recently finished installing a sewer main along Little Dry Creek between Lowell Boulevard and Raleigh Street and will be working on regrading and seeding disturbed areas during the months of June and July. The Little Dry Creek bike path between Lowell Boulevard and Raleigh Street is now open.

The city’s contractor is preparing the work area to begin sewer pipe installation along Little Dry Creek between Federal Boulevard near 67th Place and 64th Avenue and work in that area will continue through January 2020. The Little Dry Creek trail through this work area will remain closed during this period. A map of the trail closure and detour can be found at the link below.
