Meat Scream BBQ Competition
Over 40 teams are competing this year in the Kansas City BBQ Association sanctioned event. $20 will buy you samples from 10 competitors and allow you to vote for the People's Choice Award (first 1,000 ticket holders are eligible to vote). Voting takes place 12-3 p.m. Purchase your tickets today!
Hot Air Balloons
How many are there? There are currently 10 hot air balloons scheduled.
What time are the balloons there? The balloons arrive at 4:30 p.m. and are inflated at 5:45 p.m. for the Hot Air Balloon Glow.
Do they leave the ground and can we ride in them? No, these balloons remain on the ground during the event. All of the pilots are very friendly and love for you to visit and ask questions. At night, enjoy the spectacular balloon glow!
Will the balloons be up rain or shine? The hot air balloons are weather dependent--they cannot be inflated if the wind speed is more than 5 MPH. The pilots monitor this throughout the event, so if they are not inflated, it's because it is too windy. If this is the case, they will still light the propane burners.

Costumes: We love costumes! Please make sure they are appropriate for the family-friendly event. Leave any sharp objects, sticks, bats and replica guns/swords at home.

Prohibited items: Outside alcohol (visit one of our beer vendors), laser pointers, glass containers and weapons of any type are prohibited. No marijuana use is allowed at the event (public marijuana use is illegal). All bags, containers and packages are subject to search.
Zero Waste Event
We are proud to be working with Eco-Cycle to produce very little waste during this event. Please look at the sorting stations and sort your trash accordingly. Anything purchased from food vendors can go into the compost bin once you're done.
