Irving Street Seed Library

Free Community Seed Library

We believe that everyone in our community deserves access to fresh
vegetables, herbs, and flowers to promote a healthy, sustainable, and
happy lifestyle. To help reach that goal, Irving Street Library has collected
donations from several foundations to offer seeds to our patrons at no cost.
We hope the Seed Library inspires you to grow a variety of items in your
own household garden, giving you and your family fresh food and
flowers to enjoy for years to come!

How does the Seed Library work?

  1. Visit Irving Street Library and select 3 packets of seeds per household.
  2. Write down your selections in the provided notebook for tracking purposes.
  3. If desired, check out library materials about gardening, including raised-bed gardening, container gardening, and seed saving. You can even check out a gardening tool set!
  4. Plant your seeds.
  5. When it’s time to harvest, collect some seeds and bring them back to the library for other gardeners to enjoy.
  6. Take pictures of your harvest and share them with Irving Street Library by emailing them to: WPL in Touch.
