Forestry staff to remove some trees at City Hall

Forestry staff to remove some trees at City Hall

The trees at Westminster’s City Hall are due for an overhaul. Many of trees have been declining for several years and have become unsightly and unsafe.

Other trees are weakening due to challenging site conditions, species or location incompatibilities, or have failed to establish after planting.

In late July, the city’s forestry staff will begin rotational tree care activities which includes the removal of 57 declining trees on the grounds of City Hall. This work will improve the health and appearance of the remaining trees on the property while ensuring the safety of the public.

Replacement of some plantings will occur in spring 2020.
