Christmas Tree Recycling

Dec. 26-Jan. 27

Residents may recycle their Christmas trees at the lower parking lot of City Park Fitness Center, 10475 Sheridan Boulevard. This lot is self-serve, so hours are flexible. Please remove ornaments and plastic bags before disposal. Boy Scout Troop 484 provides curb-side pickup on Saturday, Dec. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 4 as their annual fundraiser.

Call 303-706-3389 to schedule a tree pickup.

Contact 303-658-2192 or aschreck@cityofwestminster.us for general questions about tree drop off.

Residents are encouraged to recycle their tree limbs to reduce landfill use and provide valuable mulch. Limb chipping and free mulch are available for Westminster residents.

Open year-round on the second Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to noon.

Westminster residents only
Please bring proof of Westminster residency, such as a driver's license, Colorado I.D. showing Westminster address, utility bill, rent receipt or mortgage statement. No contractors.

What can you bring

  • Tree limbs can be any length, but must be less than 20 inches in diameter. Loads must be covered or tied down.
  • Shrubs are allowed if the root ball has been removed.
  • No construction materials, bags of leaves or grass clippings.

Inclement weather
The limb recycling/mulch pickup could be closed due to inclement weather and excessive moisture. Check the event calendar or call 303-658-2192 for cancellation/rescheduling information.

Off-loading of tree limbs is self-serve.

Free mulch is available ONLY on the second Saturday of the month while the supply lasts. Call 303-658-2192 for mulch availability. Mulch can be self-loaded into your containers, or staff can load mulch into the back of your pickup. The city is not liable for any vehicle damages while loading mulch.

Self-serve mulch sites are closed for the season. Look for them to reopen in March.
