Start the New Year off right! Westminster’s recreation centers* are free of charge, including free fitness classes, during the first week of the year! Plus, discounted annual passes are available for purchase. Save $100 on your All-Facility Annual Pass, or save $50 on a Single-Facility Annual Pass (new passes only; must be purchased during Free Fitness Week). Participating facilities: City Park Fitness Center, West View Recreation Center, and Swim & Fitness Center. *City Park Recreation Center is not included.

Adult Easter Egg Hunt

Back by popular demand! Not for the kiddos, this one-of-a-kind event includes two egg hunts, an egg toss, egg races, and the Outrageous Easter Bonnet Contest! Between events, pose for a portrait with our deranged Easter Bunny, attempt to “Kill the Wabbit” with slingshot-propelled water balloons, and enjoy our signature cocktail: the “Bunny Drop.” Remember, you’ll want to leave the kids at home for this one—ages 21 and up only. Earth Day/Arbor Day

Celebrate Earth Day in Westminster! Win prizes, see live animals, have lunch, and learn about earth-friendly opportunities in your neighborhood. Community Pride Day

Join more than 1,000 volunteers and clean up your city! Register with friends, family, scout troops, church groups, school clubs and other community members to pick up trash in your neighborhood. Afterwards, volunteers celebrate with a free BBQ and prize giveaways. Register before May 3, at kmay@cityofwestminster.us or 303-658-2191.

Armed Forces Day Ceremony

May 19            10 a.m.                          Armed Forces Tribute Garden
Celebrate Armed Forces Day and honor those who serve our nation. The ceremony includes patriotic music, flag presentation, 21-gun salute, keynote speaker and reading of the names of all new brick honorees. Westminster’s Armed Forces Tribute Garden honors those who serve in the armed services. Personalized, engraved bricks are available to all service men and women. Visit www.tributegarden.org.

Summer Block Party

Kick off the summer with a good old-fashioned block party and movie—Westminster style! Bring the family for a FREE night of entertainment with fire truck rides, jumping castle, and dinner. Follow it up by watching The Princess and the Frog on a giant outdoor screen at dusk.

Build a Better Block Party

This weekend-long project is a great way to learn about the historic Harris Park neighborhood and to become involved in your community! As the city's inaugural Build a Better Block event, we will celebrate Westminster art, culture and history and explore what makes Westminster unique! On June 1, we will kick off the weekend with the Summer Block Party on 73rd Avenue, with lots of free, fun activities including carnival games, fire truck rides, and more! Stick around after the stars come out to enjoy a free screening of The Princess and the Frog. Then, head back out on Saturday to visit the Historic Westminster Jazz Festival, featuring jazz greats from Colorado and beyond, gourmet food trucks and dozens of vendors! Better Block projects focus on shared community vision and the possibilities that neighborhoods hold for a thriving, walkable, sustainable future. Stay tuned as more details emerge!

Father Daughter Ball

July 4th Celebration

Westminster Latino Festival

The Westminster Latino Festival is a free, day-long celebration of Latino culture! At this year's festival, you will hear live music, learn about different types of dance, sample delicious food, see Luchadores, a low-rider car show, and more! Westy Craft Brew Fest

Zombie Golf

Ballerina Dodgeball

Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and…dance?! That’s right, this is dodgeball like you’ve never seen before! Dust off your gym shorts, grab a tutu, and join the fun at Ballerina Dodgeball! Not for the kiddos, this one-of-a-kind game is a hilarious mashup of ballet and dodgeball, complete with costumes and cold brews. Tournament is co-ed. Ages 21+.

Holiday Lighting Ceremony

Experience the magical wonderland of lights at the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony at Westminster City Hall, complete with holiday music, hot chocolate, cookies, and of course, a visit with Santa! Create new family traditions around the bonfire and on the hayride. The full-size sleigh and kid-size train are perfect settings for family photos. Dress warm—the event is mostly outside!
