Pay Fines

Take advantage of our 100 Years/100 Days/$100 off promotion June 1 - Sept. 8

During this promotion, Westminster Public Library will waive up to $100 of your fines for overdue materials. Visit, call or email us and let us know you have fines so we can waive them for you. Please note: This does not apply to lost or damaged items and debt collection fees. You will still be responsible for those.

To pay fines and fees online, visit our SmartPay site. (Note: From June 1 - Sept. 8, we will waive your overdue fines if you visit, call or email us. See above for details.)

  • Overdue Fines: $0.20/day per item ($7 cap per item)
  • Damaged Items: The charges for any damaged item will include the replacement cost. Replacement cost is defined as ½ the cost of the current retail price at the time the library added the item to the collection. Damaged status is noted by Library Staff. The library will NOT accept replacement items for damaged materials.
  • Lost Items: The charges for any lost item will be the replacement cost. Replacement cost is defined as ½ the cost the current retail price at the time the library added the item to the collection The library will NOT accept replacement items for lost materials. Lost items which are paid for, found and returned within 60 days of payment are refundable. Refunds are subject to a 10 day waiting period.
  • Collection: Failure to return materials and/or pay fines and miscellaneous fees at or above $10 will result in your patron account being sent to a collection agency at an additional fee. The Circulation Staff can provide additional information on this subject.
  • Printing Fees: Patrons using the public library computers can print documents to library printers. Fees for printing are: $0.10/page for black ink and $0.25/page for color.
